Staying in this hotel was a unique experience as the room had a quirky charm despite originally being booked by someone else. The location is excellent, nestled behind the Capitol building, making it convenient to explore various attractions on foot. However, the dining setup was basic, offering self-serve options like toast and cereal. The service was friendly and helpful, with staff members providing useful travel suggestions.

I found my room to be slightly different but charming, as it was a converted closet.

The staff member who took care of the communal area was helpful and accommodating, even providing cereal, bread, orange juice, and milk in the morning.

6.0/10

My stay at the hotel had its ups and downs. Although the rooms were really small and had shared bathrooms, the availability was good, and clean towels were provided. The air conditioning was loud, making it a bit unpleasant. Being in the basement, especially in what seemed like the maid's room, was not ideal. Yet, the location was positive, close to Capitol Hill and with easy access to bikes and scooters. However, there were some minor nuisances in the house and neighborhood. The dining experience was basic, with limited options and difficulties with pouring the orange juice, but it was still a decent start to the day.

Rooms

The rooms, despite their small size and shared bathrooms, were clean with good availability of towels. The air conditioning was a bit loud, though.
Service
7.0
The staff, although not very welcoming, was knowledgeable about the area and available during the day.
Location

The location was a strong point, being close to Capitol Hill, the train station, and Congress. It also offered easy access to bikes and scooters.
Dining

The dining experience was basic, with limited options and difficulties with the orange juice. Still, it provided a decent start to the day.

The facilities were lacking, especially considering the basement room situation. They need improvement.

6.4/10

My stay at the hotel was a mix of positives and negatives. The location was exceptional, with easy access to bikes and scooters for exploring. My room, Rm 10 on the top floor, was exactly what I requested and had its own bathroom, which was a plus. The proximity to iconic landmarks like the Capitol Hill and the National Mall made sightseeing effortless. However, the dining experience left much to be desired, with basic options that could have been improved, lacking fresh fruit or juices.

Rooms
5.0
Although my room ended up being in the basement, it really should not have hosted guests until it was fixed up. Despite this, availability was never an issue, and clean towels were provided. The room was serviceable but not serviced during our stay, making it somewhat unpleasant to use.
Service
8.0
The staff was fantastic and the location was great. The plan to convert the common room into additional bedrooms might impact the atmosphere, but I appreciated their willingness to accommodate my needs, even allowing me to move a brick for easier access.
Location
9.0
The location was really awesome, with easy access to bikes and scooters for those inclined to use them. Being within walking distance to key landmarks like the Capitol Hill and the National Mall was a major plus. Also, close proximity to Union Station and the Capitol made traveling around very convenient.
Dining
5.0
The dining experience was basic and lacked variety. While the breakfast was light, it could have been better with fresher and more diverse options. Missing items like fresh fruit or juices would have enhanced the overall dining experience.
Facilities
6.0
The facilities were in need of some improvements, especially in the dining area which was really inadequate, offering only boxed cereal and similar items. However, the closeness to various attractions and the cleanliness around the neighborhood added to the overall experience.

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel! The rooms were open to everyone, making it convenient for moving around easily. The house had a cozy and welcoming atmosphere, which I loved. The service was top-notch with very polite and friendly staff, ensuring a pleasant experience. The location was the highlight, just a few minutes' walk from the Capitol and surrounded by charming neighborhoods. The dining experience was good, offering a typical B&B experience. Overall, a great value for the money.

6.0/10

My stay at the hotel was a mix of positives and negatives. The location was ideal, just a short walk from Capitol Hill, but the room left much to be desired. The service was helpful in some aspects but lacking in others. The dining experience fell short of expectations, although the facilities were satisfactory.

Rooms
5.0
I found the room to be extremely small and unfortunately located close to noisy washing machines. The rusted bathrooms and dusty interiors didn't make for a pleasant stay.
Service
6.0
The service was hit or miss. While staff were knowledgeable and willing to hold my luggage, the lack of assistance in other matters was disappointing.
Location
8.0
The hotel's proximity to Capitol Hill and key attractions was convenient for my work appointments and sightseeing. However, the cleanliness of the area left something to be desired.
Dining
5.0
Breakfast was underwhelming with just basic options like cold cereal and bread. The quality of the dining experience didn't match up to my expectations.
Facilities
7.0
The facilities met basic requirements, but nothing exceptional stood out during my stay.
